Keno is an ancient Chinese game very similar to lotto. Its rules are simple: The player picks at least 4 and not more than 10 numbers in the range between 1 and 80. Each selected number by the player is called a “spot” and depending on how many spots the player have selected the game alters. i.e. if the player selects 5 spots then he plays a 5 spot game, if 9 – a 9 spot game and so on. After the player have selected the number of spots he wants to play with and the spots themselves he presents a filled Keno ticked to the Keno desk along with his wager. A copy of the ticket is always given to the player so he can be able to follow the numbers he have betted on. And after that the game begins: 20 of 80 numbered Keno balls total are drowned from a barrel at random. The player with enough of his selected numbers drawn is the winner.
There is a video version of Keno as well. It looks slightly different than the ordinary Keno as is usually presented as a coin operated slots-like machine but the principle it works is identical. The rules are the same but just the game goes a lot faster as it is all automated.
The minimum bet in Keno is usually $1 although some online casino accepts bets as low as 5 cents. The amount of money the winner gets depends on the game type he have chosen and the number of spots he have hit. As mentioned above the player can chose if he wants to play 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 spot game. And respectively the biggest possible amount of money can be won with 10 spot game and 10 spots drawn. The maximum prize varies from casino to casino but it reaches up to $50,000 for a $1 wager in some casinos. Online poker.
