This dice game is usually played privately (rather than in Casinos), and any number may play. Each person in turn acts as the Shooter, throwing two matched dice in an attempt to roll a winning combination.

Before your first throw, you must put up a stake, and the other players bet against you (the shooter) up to the amount of the stake. This is termed as ‘fading the stake’. You must withdraw any part of your stake that is not faded.

You then throw the dice. This is known as the come out throw.

If you throw a 7 or 11 on your first roll, you win and may collect all the stakes put up by the other players. You may continue to shoot and bet again or you may give up the dice, passing them to the player on your left. Throwing a 7 or 11 is termed a ‘natural’.

If you roll 2, 3, or 12 on the first roll, you lose, and each of the other players takes away double the amount they faded. Again, you may continue to shoot and bet again, or you may give up the dice. Online casino promotions. Throwing a 2, 3, or 12 is known as ‘craps’.

If your first throw is 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, that number is your point, and you will continue to throw until you roll the same number again (called ‘making the point’) at which point you win. However, if you throw a 7 (known as a ‘seven out’ or ‘craps out’) you lose both your bet and the dice. Play poker.

Side Bets

The other players (including the shooter) may make side bets with or against the shooter, either before they have a point (coming out) or after (will or won’t make their point).

One of the players is called the ‘right’ bettor and the other the ‘wrong’ bettor. The right bettor lays odds that the dice will make an agreed outcome; whereas the wrong bettor takes odds that the dice will not achieve this result.

There are a number of side bets that players can make, including the following:

Flat Bet

These bets are made on whether the shooter’s come out throw will be a natural (a 7 or 11).

Point Bet

These bets are made on whether a player who has thrown a point number will throw it again before a 7 (make the point).

Off Number Bet

These bets are made on a particular number, which must be thrown before the shooter throws a 7. This bet may be called off by players before it is decided by the dice. Online poker.

Hardway Bet

These bets are also known as ‘gag bets’, and are made on whether the shooter will throw a number as the sum of a double, that is, a 4 (two 2s), 6 (two 3s), 8 (two 4s) or 10 (two 5s). Losing throws for this bet are a 7 or the number itself made as another combination, such as 2 and 4, making 6, instead of double 3.

Proposition Bet

These bets are any other bets made by players made on any outcome desired. They are often on whether a specific number or numbers will be rolled within an agreed number of throws, for example, a two-roll bet or three-roll bet. Casino bonuses.
