Learning how to deal blackjack is not that difficult but you do need to remember very specific rules when you deal. Begin to deal with the player on your left. Give them a card that is face up. Deal to the next person on the right and continue around the table until you get a card. Your card goes face down. Deal one more round of cards in the same manner so each player has two cards. Yours are both face down, one on top of the other. Put the cards down and flip your bottom card over to reveal the face.

If your bottom card shows an ace when you flip it, ask if anyone would like insurance. The insurance bet is half the amount of the original bet. If the dealer has a blackjack, it pays two to one and protects the bet. Peak underneath and if it’s a blackjack pay off the insurance bets first, then collect the losing wagers of the players. If a player has a blackjack you have an ace, then you need to ask the player if they want even money. This means that they bought insurance, pushed and get the payment of 1 to 1 for their blackjack instead of 3 to 1 like normal.

If your card is a face card you also need to peak at the other card that is turned over. If you have a blackjack, all players lose, except someone with a blackjack. They push which means they don’t win but they don’t lose their wager.

The players now see your cards and decide whether they want to take a hit or pass. An ace can count as one or ten. You start again to your left and if the player waves an open hand over the cards or says pass, you move to the next person. If the player taps the table, points to the table or says, “Hit me” you give them a card.

If the total of the cards is over twenty-one the player busts. Then you take the cards, put them in a discard pile, and take the chips.

Some games offer the option of surrender. This means the player doesn’t think they can beat your hand and ask for it. They lose only half the bet.

Another opportunity for a player decision is a double down. Usually this occurs when a player has two cards that total 10 or 11. The player moves a stack equal to or less next to the original. If he doubles for less he indicates that also. The player only receives one card and can’t take another after he doubled down. Depending on the table rules, some allow doubling regardless of how much the first two cards total. Poker room.

If a player has two like cards, they can split. When a player wants to split, they put the exact amount down as the original bet and motion for a split with putting their first two fingers flat on the table. Deal to the hand on the left first. If the player gets an amount that he feels appropriate for a double down, he can double for less or put the exact number of chips next to that stack indicating a double.

After the player busts or stays on the first hand move to the second. If another like card is in the first two of either split, the player can split again. There can be as many as four hands in front of the player if they split three times. Players can’t split more than three times. If the player has two aces, they may split but each ace only gets one card. Some tables allow for resplitting aces but it’s rare. Poker tournaments.

When each player receives the number of cards they want, you flip your second card over. If your hand shows less than 17 then you must take a hit. In some cases, table rules require that the dealer take another card when they have a soft 17, that’s an ace and a six. If you bust, everyone left with a bet wins. If you get 17 through 21, you pay those with a higher amount showing and take the wager of the hands that are lower. If your score matches a player’s it’s a push and they keep their wager but don’t win.

Blackjack is among the most common and popular casino games around. Thousands of people play blackjack everyday not only online but also in real casinos. If you want to play blackjack but don’t know its rules then you need not worry because it is a really simple game. Get to know the basic blackjack rules here.

In the game of blackjack, you do not compete with other players. You actually compete only against the dealer. The aim is to be able to obtain cards whose total is not higher than 21 but still higher than the hand of the dealer. When the total of cards crosses 21 you are said to have busted and you lose the game. Your cards’ total value is determined by adding all of them together. Kings, Queens, and Jacks are worth a total of ten points each. Aces are either worth one point or eleven points (it depends on what you think is more beneficial to you). There are no different or special values assigned to numbered cards and so their value is equal to the number on them. In blackjack a two-card hand of 21 points is said to be the best hand with one of the cards being an Ace and thereby of course the other being a card which holds ten points. Online poker room.

Blackjack starts when the players place their bets. Before the cards are dealt every player on the table has to place the bet. The dealer deals the cards only after all players are done placing their bets. Each player receives two cards that are all face up. Of the two cards dealt to the dealer only one is placed face-up and the other is placed face-down. Then the players have to taking into consideration the value of cards at hand decided to either stand or hit. In case the summation of the values of cards in hand is a lot less than 21 then it is advisable to hit. Keeping mind that you can lose with the next card if the total of your hand then crosses and so think carefully before you hit. Whenever you are convinced that your hand cannot get better with a hit it makes sense to simply stand. The dealer will then reveal his hand. Most blackjack rules state that the dealer must hit if his cards’ total is less than 16. When you end up not just not busting but also with a hand totaling to more than your dealer’s you get paid 1:1. In case you straight away get a blackjack which means if you score 21 then you are paid 3:2. Play poker.

Card counting is a very good strategy to use when playing online live blackjack, or even blackjack in a land-based casino. In fact, it is a technique used almost solely with blackjack than with any other card game. However, if you are going to use card counting when playing blackjack, you have to remember that while it is not illegal to do card counting, you have to make sure that you will not get caught doing it. Otherwise, card counting will not work in your favor.

There are a few tricks that you need to learn in order to master card counting and to make it more effective for you when playing blackjack. First of these tricks is to practice it by yourself first before applying it to a game of online live blackjack. As our teachers always say, practice makes perfect. Once you have gotten card counting down pat, it would be easier for you to do it no matter how fast the cards are being dealt on the table. No matter how many distractions that you encounter while playing blackjack, it will be hard for you to actually lose count once you have mastered how to do it.

Learning how to focus is the second trick you need to learn when counting your cards in a game of online live blackjack. As you know, there are so many things that can take your attention away from your game, whether you are playing from your computer at home or playing at a land-based casino. Despite these distractions, you will need to know how to keep counting your cards regardless of the situation.

However, you must not be too focused as to ignore what is happening around you, especially if you are playing at a land-based casino rather than in an online casino. That would be disastrous because the dealer would know for an instant that you are counting cards, and once she senses that, she would try her best to counteract your counting by making random shuffles of the decks in the shoe. When she starts doing that, your card counting will stop being effective for you.

Therefore, the third trick you need to learn when counting cards is subtlety. Be aware of what is going on around you even when you are trying to keep the count of the cards. Another thing you could do to hide the fact that you are counting cards is to keep your betting spread small. The betting spread refers to the pattern you make with your betting and the differences between each bet. Of course when you are expecting the value of the card to be low, you will wager only the absolute minimum, and you would raise it when you are expecting high-value cards. Keep the increments of your wagers low so the dealer would not spot you at your card counting.Online poker room.

Lastly, make sure you know how to manage your bankroll when card counting in live online blackjack. It is so tempting to blow all your money away at one round when you think you know that you will win. Internet poker.

The skill of card counting in Blackjack is one that is often credited to the legendary Blackjack player Ed Thorp, but the skill actually goes back to the middle of the twentieth century, when the popular book Playing Blackjack to Win was published in 1957.

Before that date, there was no real strategy in Blackjack – indeed, it was more of a game based around guesses and hunches rather than anything more solid.

The book though, written by the four legendary Blackjack players Roger Baldwin, Herbert Maisel, James McDermott and Wilbert Cantey (or ‘The Four Horsemen’ as they were more commonly known), changed everything.

It contained the world’s first mathematical blackjack strategy and also spoke about a rudimentary system for counting cards that required the use of ‘adding machines’ to help players become more successful.

This theory certainly made an impact on Thorpe who took the Horsemen’s thoughts and developed them into a system that no longer required counting machines.

Instead, Thorpe’s system simply recommended 16 different strategies based on the cards which were showing on the table at any one time. The strategies were crude and didn’t necessarily maximize a player’s advantage due to the fact that there were no recommendations to increase bet sizes based on the cards’ values.

Nevertheless, his strategies were published in the famous book ‘Beat the Dealer’ and despite an initially small print run, his ideas forced Blackjack players around the world to look at the game differently.

Indeed, many of today’s more modern counting systems are still based around the initial ideas that Thorpe came up with.

This revolutionary new way of looking at Blackjack turned Thorpe into a celebrity almost overnight and made casinos develop a fear of card counting blackjack players who were able to eliminate the house edge.

As a result, two years after Beat the Dealer was published, Las Vegas attempted to change the standard rules of Blackjack so that only Aces could be split and that Doubling Down would be restricted to those hands totally 11. Poker room.

The Blackjack community responded so angrily that just three weeks after these new rules were brought in; they were abandoned due to the lack of any activity at the tables.

Despite all this unrest, Thorpe continued to refine his strategy. In 1966, he released a new edition of Beat the Dealer which including a new Card Counting strategy that he named the ‘Hi-Lo Count.’

This new system was a lot more effective and encouraged players to vary the size of their bet depending on the cards that they had seen come out of the shoe.

Indeed, the Hi-Lo Count was so effective that by the end of 1966, almost all casinos based in Vegas had replaced the single deck that they used for Blackjack with four decks. This made the Hi Lo count less accurate and hindered players slightly.

From there, it’s only a short leap to the card counting systems that we see in place today. They’re all based around Thorpe’s initial structure and have been developed by computer scientists (Harvey Dubner), computer programmers (Julian Braun) and even a Nuclear Physicist (Allan Wilson).

Despite all that though, Thorpe’s Hi-Lo count is still the starting place for every Blackjack player looking to count cards for the first time. Poker tournaments.

Pai Gow poker originated as a game played with Chinese dominoes. However, over time the game began being played with playing cards. In order to play, you must have a standard deck of 52 cards along with the joker. The players attempt to defeat the dealer when playing this casino table game. The object of Pai Gow Poker is to create two poker hands using the seven cards that are dealt to each player. One of these poker hands is comprise of five cards while the other hand is comprised of two.

When forming your hands, you want the value to the five card hand to be greater than the value of the two card hand. These hands may be known by specific names. The large five card hand may be referred to as the high or big hand while the smaller two card hand may be called the small, minor or low hand.

When the game commences, the dealer would deal the cards into seven piles. Each pile will have seven cards in it. There will be four cards remaining, which would not be used in the hand. Players are given the opportunity to form their two hands from their pile. Following this formation, wagering ensues around the poker table.

When forming a two card hand, there are really only two options available to forming the hand. These options would be having a pair or simply having really high cards. With the five card poker hands, the traditional poker rankings would apply. The joker would be used in different ways. In the five card hand, the joker is utilized to finish out a straight hand or a flush. If the joker is not to be used in either of these ways, then its value would be that of an ace.

In the case of the two card hand, the joker is always an ace. This could vary in some casinos that may permit the joker to be a wild card in the two card hand. This can help form a pair. In order to win at Pai Gow, both hands must beat the dealer’s hand. If one of your hands beats the dealer but the other does not, then you would push. Poker site.

Blackjack is a wildly popular card game that is played online and in brick and mortar casinos. While the traditional twenty-one blackjack game is the most popular version of the game others do exist. Wanting to try something new for perhaps wanting a new challenge, blackjack players find these variations interesting and enjoyable. One up and coming variation is double attack blackjack, which provide some new twists for players.

This game utilizes a Spanish shoe. This means that each deck consists of 48 cards not the traditional 52 cards. In the 48 card debt all of the tens have been removed. Usually each shoe contains anywhere from 6 to 8 decks of cards. As in traditional blackjack the values of the cards are still the same and the winning player needs to come close to 21 without exceeding this number.

The name double attack refers to another wager that a player might choose to make. This is strictly optional and the player is wagering that the dealer will bust. Poker site. Specifically the dealer must have exactly three cards when they bust. If this should occur the player will receive bonus money from the bet. The payout varies depending upon what the dealer’s third card was. For example, if the dealer busts with his third card being a face card, the payout is 3 to 1. However the payout increases as the card value decreases. Also it’s a special rules apply when the third card is an eight. If the first or second card of the dealer was also an eight, an additional bonus would be paid. For example if the eight is the same colour, either read or black, as the other eight the bonus paid out would be 50 to 1. If the eight is the same suit as either card that payout increases to 200 to 1. Play poker.

Another twist to double attack blackjack centres on a blackjack hand. A blackjack and occurs when a player receives 21 with only two cards. In traditional blackjack this hand would earn the player a 3 to 2 payout. In double attack blackjack, the payout is normal.

Sam Torosian and Fred Wolf, the inventers of Super Pan-9, invented the game Pai Gow Poker. The game is derived from Pai Gow (a Chinese game of dominoes), but is emphasized in the American format – it implements on poker hand value instead of Chinese Dominoes. Pai Gow Poker can be played with a set of six players and the dealer. The game is to be played with a 52-card deck and a joker. The joker is a type of wild card which can be used in flushes or straights or by default acts like an Ace. To win, one has to defeat the dealer. The game is best understood in sequential stages as described below.

Objective
For players of pai gow poker, he/she must create two poker hands out of the seven cards dealt by the dealer. Both these hands follow standard poker rules. However there are some exceptions which is described later. The value of the two cards must not exceed the hand value of the five cards. The cards are called as per their settings or placements given to the players. The two card hand can be called minor, on top, small, or in front. The five card hand is often called big, bottom, or behind. The reason why the two-card hand is called “front” is because its closer to the dealer while the five-card hand is called behind because its closer to you.

Dealing
After shuffling, the cards are served in seven piles with seven cards, each pile facing downwards. The remaining four cards are kept untouched regardless of the players involved. Each player is assigned a number from 1-7 as their betting position, starting from the dealer and going clockwise above the counter. A number is chosen from that 1-7 assigned before practically by dice or electronically – and then begins the deal counter clockwise. If a spot is vacant it is still assigned but on the discard pile with the four untouched cards.

Hand Ranking (Cards)
Basically the two-card hand is one-pair and high cards. The hand rankings are quite different than the casinos using the hand A-2-3-4-5 as above a King high straight is, however, below A-K-Q-J-10 at Ace high. This rule does not apply in most of the casinos in California and Michigan, A-2-3-4-5 is the lowest straight possible. In Californian casinos the joker is completely a wild card, it can enhance all hands or straights. However, its different in the case of others.

It is the players responsibility to ensure that the 5-card rank is higher than the 2-card rank. If it is not, then this is called a foul and the player loses. As for the two-card hand, the highest is a pair of Aces, and then going down from a pair of Kings to three and two. Two separate individual cards are also a possibility. The cards are generally ranked according to standard poker rules. The two card hand cannot have a flush, since this requires five cards. Also there are several house rules you should be aware of before you place a bet and start gambling. Various land-based casinos each have their own set of rules.

Determining to Win
If the hands two and five of seven cards beat the dealers corresponding hand then the player wins the bet. If the player wins any one, he continues or else loses to the banker. Ties are always an advantage for the dealer. For example, if a players two-card hands lose to the banker and the five hands is a tie, then the player loses. Casinos in California charge a flat fee to play, win, or lose. Other casinos charge a five per cent commission on the winnings which cannot be seen too often as this game takes more time as compared to other games. When all the cards have been dealt, the dealers cards are turned up by the banker, whose job is to re-arrange the cards into the highest possible combination. After the banker arranges the cards both hands (that is, the five-card hand and the two-card hand) are compared to that of every player and the payouts are given accordingly. In order for the player to win both their five-card hand and two-card hand must beat the dealers respectively. However, if only one hand beats the dealers hand while the other does not then it is a tie and no money is exchanged in the process. This is called a push. Nothing happens when the cards are pushed. Note that when comparing hands between the dealer and the player and if it is a tie then the banker wins (but the banker must have a tie on both hands or one-hand beating the players and the other a tie). Also if one hand is a tie and the other hand the player wins then this is also called a push. Usually the two-hand cards is placed in front of the five-hand cards. Poker tournaments.

Basic Strategy
A player should keep in mind to make the highest two-card hand leaving the five-card hand behind. A player can expect a medium to high in five-card hands and an Ace high on top. One should know the tables quite extensively and an approximate value can be calculated with a few rules of thumb. A player can always use House Way when confused as House strategies are always optimal – House Way is the arrangement of the dealers hand as it is pre-determined.

The House makes its money by taking a 5% commission on all winnings. When comparing the hands there could be a tie, which is also known as a copy. Every copy the money goes to the banker. The House way is the fixed rules that govern how the dealers hand will be arranged.

Pai Gow Poker can be intimidating to the rank novice but it is relatively simple to play once you understand the basic rules of the game. This article takes a look at some of those rules and will help your understanding of this variation of poker.

Pai Gow can be an extremely slow game at times and may frustrate those used to a fast and frantic game of Texas Hold’em. There are a number of “pushes” which makes for a annoying game for new players. If you can understand the rules, as with any game, you can appreciate the way Pai Gow is played.

To start, place your wager. After everyone places their bets, all players receive seven cards. Usually a random generated number will determine which player takes the first set of cards. Players then try to arrange the best five-card and two-card hand. The five card hand is ranked just like any other poker hand.

The dealer or banker will then arrange the banker hand according to the pre-set rules known as the “house way”. The player’s five card hand is compared to the dealer’s five cards and then the two-card hands are compared.

During the comparison, the highest hand wins. If there is a match in both hands, it’s called a copy and the tie becomes a default banker win. If the player beats the dealer with both hands, he or she is very lucky because they get paid even money and then gets to pay the house or bank a 5% commission. If a player wins one hand and loses the other, then the hand is a push. The entire bet is lost if the player has 2 losing hands.

Here’s where it gets tricky. When setting the hands the two card hand can’t be higher than the five-card hand. If it is then it is an automatic loser. The joker can be used to complete a straight, a flush, or a straight flush, otherwise anything else the joker plays as an ace. Online poker games.

Keep in mind, the player can elect to be the banker on their appropriate turn. There are several advantages to the player being the banker which can vary by rules of the casino. The bank is supposed to rotate with everyone getting the chance to be the banker, co-banking is an option for those who perhaps don’t want to or can’t carry the financial responsibility for the hand.
